“The President Who Stood With Israel”

Chosen for making Argentina one of Israel's strongest allies on the international stage: President Javier Milei has transformed Argentina's relationship with Israel and the Jewish people, becoming one of the most outspoken pro-Israel leaders in the world.

I am sincerely proud to be the most Zionist president in the world.

Javier Milei, March

In 2026, Milei turned that declaration into action. In April, Argentina and Israel signed the historic Isaac Accords, a new strategic partnership designed to deepen cooperation between the two countries in diplomacy, security, trade and the fight against terrorism. The agreement also positioned Argentina as a driving force for expanding Israel's alliances across Latin America.

Milei has also used his international platform to challenge the growing isolation of Israel. In June, he called on Latin American countries to choose a side, warning that "if Israel falls, all of the West is next," and declaring that there could be no neutrality in the fight against antisemitism and terrorism.

His commitment has extended to the status of Jerusalem. Milei reaffirmed Argentina's decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem in 2026, a move that would make Argentina one of the few countries in the world to recognize Jerusalem in this way.

But Milei's support is not limited to government policy. He has repeatedly placed the Jewish people and the fight against antisemitism at the center of his public message, while Argentina has actively positioned itself as a welcoming destination for Jews facing rising antisemitism elsewhere in the world.

Milei isn't simply supporting Israel from behind closed doors, he is publicly, unapologetically and repeatedly putting Argentina's name behind the Jewish state.

That is why Javier Milei is No. 9 on The 36.
